Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge for consultations?

No. We offer complimentary, no obligation consultations to discuss your needs, timeline, and determine if we are the right fit for your sale.

What is included in your estate sale service?

At Cowtown Liquidation, we provide a full-service estate sale experience. This includes organizing, staging, researching and pricing items, professional photography, advertising, staffing, checkout, and sale management from start to finish. We handle the hard work so you don’t have to.

How does the process work?

Initial Call – We discuss your goals and timeline.

In-Home Consultation – We assess the contents and scope of the sale.

Scheduling & Agreement – We secure your sale dates and prepare for setup.

Setup & Staging – Our team organizes, stages, researches, and prices items to maximize value.

Estate Sale – We professionally manage the sale, customers, and transactions.

Post-Sale Options – We can discuss donation coordination or cleanout services if needed.

How long does it take to prepare for a sale?

Preparation time depends on the size and complexity of the estate. Most sales take 2–5 days to prepare, though larger estates may require additional time.

Should I throw things away?

We actually recommend not throwing much away before we visit. You’d be surprised what shoppers purchase at estate sales. Items many people assume have little value can often sell.

What types of items sell best?

Estate sales attract buyers for a wide variety of items including furniture, antiques, collectibles, vintage decor, jewelry, artwork, tools, kitchenware, clothing, records, electronics, garage items, and even everyday household goods.

What happens to unsold items?

After the sale, we can discuss several options including donation coordination, selective removal, or cleanout services depending on your goals.

Why choose Cowtown Liquidation?

We understand estate sales often come during major life transitions — downsizing, relocation, loss of a loved one, or simply a new chapter. Our goal is to provide a compassionate, transparent, and professional experience while maximizing value and removing stress from the process. With years of experience and a client-centered approach, we treat every home with care and every client like family.

How and when do I get paid?

You will receive a settlement sheet along with payment the day the sale concludes. A more detailed report will be sent to you via email the following business day.

How do you advertise my sale?

We use a multi-platform marketing approach to maximize visibility, including professional photography, estate sale websites, social media, email marketing, local advertising, and our established customer following.

What areas do you service?

We proudly serve the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, just reach out — we’re happy to help.
